Welcome to DeinReiseleiter.com. Please carefully read the following General Terms and Conditions (AGB) governing the booking and execution of private guided tours and scholar-level tour guiding services in Istanbul and Turkey.
-
Formation of Booking Agreement
A booking contract is formed when the client submits a written inquiry (via email, WhatsApp, or the online booking form) and the guide confirms the booking in writing via email or messaging.
-
Payment Terms and Official Invoicing
Payment is made in cash directly to the guide on the day of the tour in Euros (€) or the equivalent in Turkish Lira (TRY), unless agreed otherwise in writing in advance. An official tax receipt/invoice will be issued accordingly.
-
Meeting Point
The standard meeting point is the hotel lobby or reception of the client, unless agreed otherwise in writing. For cruise ship passengers, meeting at the cruise port arrival terminal (Galataport Istanbul) can be arranged.
-
Museum Admission Fees and Third-Party Costs
Entrance fees to museums, palaces, and historical sites are not included in the guiding fee. As a licensed professional guide, tickets are purchased on your behalf directly at the official guide counters, bypassing public ticket lines (Fast-Track privilege).
-
Audio and Video Recordings
Audio and video recording of the guide's commentaries is subject to prior express consent from the guide. Taking personal souvenir photographs of monuments and scenery is naturally permitted without restriction.
-
Waiting Time in Case of Delay
The tour guide will wait at the agreed meeting point for up to 30 minutes past the scheduled time. If the client fails to arrive within this period without prior valid notice, the guide's obligation to perform ceases with full entitlement to the agreed fee.
-
Limitation of Liability
The guide's legal liability is limited strictly to intent and gross negligence. No liability is assumed for the services of third parties (such as taxis, public transport, restaurants, museums, or private boat charters).
-
Force Majeure and Unforeseen Circumstances
In the event of unforeseen circumstances (force majeure, official government closures, strikes, extreme weather conditions, or security directives), the itinerary may be modified or cancelled in consultation with the client. In the event of premature termination, the fee will be calculated on a pro-rata basis for services rendered.
-
Illness or Unavailability of the Guide
If the tour guide is prevented from conducting the tour personally due to imperative reasons (e.g. sudden acute illness), every reasonable effort will be made to arrange an equally qualified, licensed colleague as a substitute. Further compensation claims are excluded.
-
Refund Scale for Advance Payments
If an advance deposit was agreed upon for special group arrangements or peak season bookings, the following refund schedule applies:
- Up to 60 days before tour start: 100% refund (excluding banking transaction fees).
- Up to 45 days before tour start: 75% refund.
- Up to 30 days before tour start: 50% refund.
- Less than 30 days before tour start: Non-refundable deposit.
-
Short-Term Cancellation (48 to 24 Hours Prior)
For cancellations made between 48 and 24 hours prior to the scheduled tour start, 75% of the total agreed fee will be charged.
-
Very Short-Term Cancellation (Less than 24 Hours Prior)
For cancellations made less than 24 hours prior to the tour start, the full fee (100%) becomes due and payable, as the date has been reserved exclusively for you.
-
No-Show
Failure to arrive at the agreed meeting point at the scheduled time without notice constitutes a tour day cancellation and requires payment of the full agreed fee (100%).
-
Binding Nature of Contract
The agreement between both parties becomes legally binding upon written confirmation issued by the tour guide.
-
Exclusive Nature of Tour Guiding Service
This website offers exclusively the independent professional services of a licensed and accredited scholar tour guide (guided walking tours) in accordance with Turkish Ministry of Tourism Law No. 6326.
-
Travel Agency & Package Tour Operations (TÜRSAB Class A)
All additional travel package services (such as hotel bookings, multi-day tours with accommodation, long-distance coach charter, or domestic flight arrangements) are booked and handled via our licensed partner agency ATN Tours (TÜRSAB Class A Travel Agency License).
-
Governing Law and Jurisdiction
All legal relations are governed exclusively by the laws of the Republic of Turkey. The courts and execution offices of Istanbul shall have exclusive jurisdiction over all disputes arising from or in connection with this contract.
